1. Eligibility:
a. Open to registered campers only.
b. Participants must register in advance either at the office or through the provided online link.
2. Categories:
a. Youth: Ages 15 and under.
b. Adult: Ages 16 and up.
3. Fishing Method:
a. This is a catch-and-release tournament.
b. Participants must bring their own fishing rods, bait, and tackle. Artificial bait is allowed.
4. Time Limit:
a. The tournament runs from 8am-12pm and 1pm-4pm.
b. All participants must stop fishing when the event ends. Fish caught after the end time will not be counted unless they are on the line at ending time.
Dock & Pond Rules:
5. Fishing Location:
a. Fishing is limited to the dock area only- NO SHORELINE FISHING.
b. A maximum of [4-6 anglers] can fish on the dock at one time. Rotation schedules will be in place to ensure everyone gets a chance to fish.
6. Rotations:
a. Anglers will fish in [45-60 minute] time slots if participation exceeds capacity.
b. Please be mindful of time to allow others to participate.
7. Safety:
a. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
b. No running or roughhousing on the dock or near the pond.
c. Life vests are recommended for children.
Scoring & Prizes:
"Time of Catch" must be recorded with the staff member on site to be used in determining any ties. The fastest catch will be declared the winner.
8. Scoring Criteria:
a. Largest Fish: Measured by length.
b. Most Fish Caught: Total number of fish caught during the tournament.
9. Measurement Process:
a. All fish will be measured using the same device and recorded by the staff.
b. Return the fish to the water gently after measurement.
10. Tie-Breakers:
a. In the event of a tie, the staff will determine the winner based on additional criteria (e.g., total weight, fastest catch).
Sportsmanship:
11. Fair Play:
a. All participants must fish in a safe, respectful, and sportsmanlike manner.
b. Cheating (e.g., using pre-caught fish) will result in immediate disqualification.
12. Respect for Others:
a. Be courteous to fellow participants, volunteers, and staff.
b. Share the space and follow dock rotation instructions.
c. If you are late for your time slot, additional time cannot be extended.
Miscellaneous:
13. Weather:
a. The event will proceed rain or shine unless conditions are deemed unsafe. In that case, the tournament may be rescheduled or canceled.
14. Liability:
a. The campground is not responsible for lost or damaged equipment or injuries during the event. Participation is at your own risk.
15. Final Decisions:
a. The tournament coordinator's decisions on disputes, scoring, and rule interpretations are final.
